manual reticulocyte count

procuder

a- mix 4 drops of Methelyne blue withe 4 drops of blood patient

b-let the sample to mix for 1o-15 minutes

c-make blood smear and let it to dry

d-allow the smear completly dry and read under microscopic using*100 oil immersion

e- count reticulocyte
f-use this formula

number of reticulocyte= # of reticulocyte counted per 1000*100\1000

Example
if reticulocyte counted =37

the # of reticulocyte=3.7%

N.R= 0.5-2% FOR adult

N.R=2.5-6.5% FOR infants
